If you have ever dreamed of bow hunting Africa for the first time, or you are a seasoned international bowhunter, the “new” Kunkura Lodge and Ranch is a destination you should not miss.
Kunkura was purchased in 2006 by African bowhunting specialists; Nico and Will Pelser, to create a bow hunting only paradise not found anywhere else on the African continent. With over 40 years of professional hunter experience between them, this unique father and son team will share their special skills and instantly bond with bowhunters of all levels. Between them, their past clients have over 400 entries into the SCI Archery record books, many entered in the top 10, and several world records. The needs of a bowhunter can only truly be appreciated by another bowhunter, regardless of what other gun/bow outfitters tell you.
What is so special about Kunkura? This is simple. The unique terrain of the Waterberg area, the fact that the ranch has never been commercially hunted and construction of all facilities were created directly for bowhunting. Blinds, called hides, unique terrain perfect for spot and stalk techniques, and water holes created for the positioning of close down wind shots, make Kunkura a versatile bowhunter’s heaven. Excellent practice ranges, with both Nico and Will being truly skilled bow technicians, make any equipment problems a routine fix.
Kunkura ranch is home to over 30 different species with special emphasis placed on trophy quality Kudu, Bushbuck, Bush Pig, Mountain Reedbuck, Nyala and Livingston Eland.

Trip Guideline
Tips or Gratuities has always been a questionable question. Everybody understands that this is not a must but rather a way of saying thank you. Over many years of hunting we have found the following to be the general averages. It is however your own prerogative to decide if and what you want to give.
The following could be used as guidelines on TIPPING of staff:
Professional Hunter – 10% of total Hunt
Tracker & Skinners – $100 to $200 per person for the duration of the hunt
Camp Staff – $100 per person for the Hunt (Chef, waiters, cleaners and camp managers)
Rates are subject to change without notice.
